Here are detailed item descriptions
about the different components that make up a Peace LightTM.
Lucite Icons
Peace LightTM
icons are made from a UV-inhibited acrylic that has been proven to withstand
weathering effects indefinitely. Each icon is fastened to a base with a
zinc-plated light stem, secured from within the unit and siliconed to ensure
a lifetime fit.
Battery Power
A full day of bright sunlight
will charge the Peace Light'sTM
battery. The solar panel will charge even on a partially sunny day; however,
the reserve time will not be as long. The original battery shipped with
the Peace LightTM
may last 3 to 5 years and is not available in stores. Contact your distributor
directly for replacement batteries.
Time Mechanism and Solar
Collector
The exclusive Peace LightTM
circuit board has been designed to charge during sunlight hours, begin
glowing at dusk, and turn off at dawn. The solar collector on the front
of the unit is the electronic eye that triggers the unit to light. Snow
or heavily shaded areas which cover the panel will cause the light to remain
on. This will deplete the Peace LightTM
batteries of power (Peace LightTM
memorials require direct sunlight outdoors in order to fully charge the
battery). An innovative, new chapel adapter is now available for display
or indoor use. When the adapter is utilized, the Peace LightTM
is able to draw its energy from electricity, allowing for continuous lighting
without the use of the sun. The indoor adapter is not recommended for outdoor
use.
LED (Light Emitting Diode)
The Peace LightTM
diode is a high-intensity unit that gives a warm red or gold glow (all
Peace LightsTM glow
either red or gold at night). The LED filament glows in the darkness and
has an estimated lifetime of 25-30 years.
Bases (Granite)
The granite base is made
from 100% real granite taken from natural quarries. The weight is approximately
13 pounds. The granite base is used only with Model KKS-100 icons and KKS-296
icons.
